Finished Painting Of Henry and George

Fianally finished after a lot of interruptions , I feel I have achieved what I wanted , a pleasing painting in autumn tones featuring the 2 dogs rather than a painting of just 2 dogs, so just to sign and varnish and deliver to my client.

What a difference a day makes , had problems with computer so have just got yesterdays work uploaded , so this is tadays additions and development , with the addition of the middle distance detail and colours ,The dogs will sit in the right hand side with the line of their nose pointing down the path , which should give the painting greater depth, and take the eye on a journey, hopefully a pleasing one, into the scene.
What I hope to achieve is a pleasing image which includes portaits of thes two lovely dogs . not just a painting of dogs with a background , if you understand my meaning, I’m not sure I explained that correctly, but I hope you know what I mean

It’s nice just to get some colour onto the canvas , now Iv’e started I wont want to stop.Although it will be an autumn scene, the predominant coulr looking into woodland will be green , so I’ve put down a base with some texture and form, the next stage will be to fill in the detail of the middle/far distance and the the autumnal shades will predominate

I have now added photos correctly ! Aren’t they just lovely dogs and so well behavedĀ  too. When I visit client I always ask where the finished painting will hang, in this case at the bottom of the staircase, and I remembered that the decor was predominantly shades of brown/beige/cream,so after consulting the client I have decided to change the season and paint the background in Autumnal shades which will fit in with the decor better
