progress on painting” Toffee” Hope I have the background right for the client, but it should be right for the composition and show up “Toffee” well, I’ve darwn in the main facial features and now applying the main areas of colour – this may take some time , there are a lot of subtle shades to get right before painting in the main features.

Yorkshire landscape_portrait artist

Just starting a commission to paint Portrait of “Toffee” a lovely Golden Retreiver, the client requested the background in Autumn tone , so I’ve used raw sienna and burnt sienna over a base of sap green fairly dark to allow the very blonde tones of Toffee to stand out .

Have just delivered commission – painting of 3 Labs – Cocoa, Teddy and Sugar, customer delighted, they said it was better than they could possibly have expected , I appreciated that, I must say it looked very good against the wall with the same background colour

portrait artist York/Yorkshire pet portraits

I have just been commissioned to paint 3 lovely Labradors, 2 choc, and 1 blonde, will do on a 500×300 stretched canvas.heads and shoulders only

The room where the painting is to hang has just been redecorated and I have some of the paint that was used on the walls so I can exactly match the background for the portraits.

Finished painting of “Rosie”

Well this is it , I hope you all like it,
I don’t suppose you can see a lot of difference between this and the previous photo, but I have added a lot of highlights in pure white to give texture to the hair especially on the face.
I shall be presenting this painting to EST Leeds at their Summer Fair
