well this is the finished piece,I have lightened the skin tone , although they were true to the photograph I was working from they looked far too dark,but in real life she has a lot of colour in her skin, I hope everyone is pleased with the likeness , I am, especially working from such a small photgraph,It would be good to be able to finish it from a live sitting, but that would not be possible

This is the first blog post of a series following the progress of this portait painting of Dr Sevendsen the founder of EST the trust for Donkeys and children with special needs,
I’ve drawn the outline and main features in charcoal, and whilst the paint is wet I’ve added the main colour tones , I will let this dry before drawing in the details of the eyes mouth etc.
