Yorkshire artist painting “poppies in grasses”
whilst I painted the sky with brushes I have used pallette knives to portay the poppies and grasses using impasto gel to bulk out the acrylic paint sometimes straight from the tube,
I really like and enjoy this technique it shows spontaneity, freedom and give great definition and highlight to the subject.
Nopw the paint has had chance to dry I can go over part again to give greater definition where needed , for example to show where petals
overlay or are semi transparent
